Teela Taqueria!

Sunday we went to one of my favorite “close by” places for lunch. Teela Taqueria!
20120617-212318.jpg It was nice enough to sit outside in the shade with a couple of iced teas. For our starter we ordered the Trio which is queso, salsa and guacamole served with a mountain of seasoned fresh tortilla chips.

For my main I ordered two BLT Tacos and one Buffalo Chicken Taco. The BLT is the best taco ever, in my opinion. It has fried green tomatoes, bacon, arugula, feta cheese and an amazing aioli sauce drizzled throughout. Delicious! The buffalo chicken taco, has chicken, Bleu cheese, celery, lettuce and buffalo wing sauce, which is quite spicy and so good! These are my go-to tacos.

The special taco of the day was a Thai Taco, with yellow curry, carrots and other Thai veggies and chicken or fish, chad opted for the chicken, and he also got his favorite Bang Bang Shrimp taco. We ate everything and were way to stuffed for dessert. In fact, neither of us even ate dinner. The service was good and It was nice to sit outside and still have attentive service. If you are looking for a creative place for some fun and tasty tacos, Teela Taqueria can’t be beat.

That’s it for my weekend, hope everyone had a great time too!

Another great weekend in the ATL

Cheers to another awesome fun filled weekend in the ATL! Friday night a few of us from work headed up to Meehans Public House in Sandy Springs and had happy hour, the first for me in quite some time. I had invited Chad but he was already at the Fred Bar, so I joined him there. Good beers and good folks 🙂

Saturday we had plans to meet some friends of ours down in Little 5 Points to have lunch and see the play “Waffle Palace” at the Horizon Theater. it is a great play, we got there a little after the theater opened and we weren’t able to get seats together. I speaks well of the play, if a 3pm Saturday Matinee is sold out. Good show, I highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance.

After the play, we walked over to the The Wrecking Bar Brewpub and we helped them celebrate their first anniversary! They brew all the beers themselves and for their birthday the had about 20 or so beers. The great thing is that they have a full pint size and a half pint size. We got half pints so we could sample more of them. Everything I had was was great, I think everyone liked their beers. I had the “Jemmy Dean Breakfast Stout“, “bourbon vanilla smoked porter” which was from the cask, and the “Punch Yo Momma smoked porter“. My favorite was the “Punch Yo Momma” though they were all great. Chad had one called “Siberius Maximus Russian Imperial Stout” it was delicious but 10.2% so it would have probably ended my good time. The Wrecking Bar is a restored old beautiful home, and the owners are adding a beer garden, and there is a space upstairs for events. Check ’em out. We had great service, everyone was friendly and this might sound odd… But it is important to note that the bathrooms are immaculate, odd for a beer establishment.

This was a great Saturday, thanks to great friends, great food and great beer!
