The chicken and the egg.
We ventured out to old Marietta today to have brunch at “The Chicken and the Egg”. It was well worth the trip outside the perimeter.
What we ate:
Flaky biscuits with blackberry jam and sorghum molasses butter (omg yum)
Pimento Cheese Fritters
Fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and greens
This is one of the best meals I have had in metro Atlanta. The chicken was perfectly fried and boneless and remained so juicy. The greens were phenomenal, cooked with a Cajun spiced hog jowl. The macaroni and cheese was great and piping hot, usually when I order it is rather luke warm. Everything I ate was amazing. The service was great, and she was very proud of where she works. I will certainly be returning.
